Misinformation is spreading claiming that seemingly innocent cities are THE MOST DANGEROUS CITIES!  “Everybody panic!”  That’s the point, right?  Beware of fear.  I decided to dig into the numbers myself to answer the following questions:

1.  What are the safest cities in Arkansas?  (Which cities have the lowest violent crime rate?)

2.  What are the “most dangerous” cities in Arkansas?  (Which cities have the highest violent crime rate?)

See how the cities in Arkansas rank…

Top 5 Safest Cities in Arkansas

1.  Maumelle  (BEST)

2.  Mountain Home

3.  Bentonville

4.  Siloam Springs

5.  Van Buren

5 Most Violent Cities in Arkansas

1.  Helena  (WORST)

2.  West Memphis

3.  Pine Bluff

4.  Little Rock

5.  Hot Springs

Notes on Hot Springs and Garland County

I live in Garland county, outside the city limits of Hot Springs.

Garland County, outside the city, is one of the safest places to live in Arkansas with a violent crime rate of 0.2% of our population.  In comparison, Hot Springs has a violent crime rate of 1.4% of its population, just under Little Rock (if you use more significant digits).  Pine Bluff is slightly worse at 1.5%.  West Memphis is much worse at 2.7%.  And Helena is by far the worse in Arkansas, at 3.3%.

Conclusion

Beware of lies, fear, and hate.  “There is no fear in love.  But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”  1 John 4:18

I used to be afraid until I repented in 2011, so I know how it feels to fear… and it’s no fun.  I have so much peace now, thanks to Jesus.

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.” Proverbs 29:25
