So Many Cute Cats At Shelter Waiting for Adoption

My children and I visited the Guardian Angels Cat Rescue (GACR) in the summer of 2015. There were about 150 cats at the shelter waiting to be adopted. Our family had previously adopted three cats from this shelter and we still have them at our home today. We do not regret adopting from this shelter.
The volunteers at the shelter have extra stress placed on them now because they will likely be moving out of the building by the end of September 2015. And there are so many cats that will have to move or be adopted.
They are moving because they cannot afford a rent increase demanded by the landlords. The Walmart corporation acquired a couple of the empty units at Indiandale Center and plans to add a Walmart Grocery, and with this addition the landlords at Indiandale Center think they can demand more money. Walmart, with the motto: Always Low Prices. But the rent is going up.
How much is the rent going up? Diane Jones at GACR talked with me on June 30, 2015 and said the rent was going from the current rate of about $1,500 per month up to $4,000 per month!
“The wheels of commerce have moved forward, and the leasing company has an opportunity to rent space at premium pricing as a Walmart Grocery will soon be neighbor to the remaining units.”
This shelter needs help finding homes for the cats at the shelter and could use some help moving to a different location where the rent would be more affordable, away from the Walmart Grocery. The shelter might relocate to Hobson Ave. I pray that the Lord would help them with their needs and that we will keep a well-run cat shelter here in our local area, where people can go to adopt some of God’s little creatures.
